How to Boost Employee Productivity
Today we have enough personal and informational evidence to support the fact that healthy employees lead to a boost in productivity. This is mostly because healthy employees are less likely to fall ill and use sick days. Hence, reducing absenteeism.
However, there is another aspect to why healthy employees tend to be more productive. Healthier employees are also more productive due to greater energy levels and higher self-esteem. Simply exercising for 30 minutes a day improves cholesterol levels, lowers diabetes risk, and decreases the risk of heart disease.
According to the Willis Healthy and Productivity Survey, out of 950+ organizations that were surveyed, 93% acknowledged that healthier employees are more productive employees. This was measured using metrics such as absenteeism, employee attrition, and a number of medical leaves.
There are a plethora of external reports and articles that will provide factual evidence about the direct relationship between healthy/ happy employees and productivity. However, nothing can supersede personal experiences. Take a pledge to eat healthily and exercise for at least 30 minutes every day. This way you personally will feel more engaged in your work-life.
